OSHA 10 - 30 HOURS

This course aims to prevent injuries, costly incidents and OSHA fines; protect the health of all workers and save lives.  The 10-hour class is designed for entry level workers and the 30-hour class is appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility.  This course includes Department of Labor completion cards, demonstrating that you are in compliance with all OSHA standards.

 

FLAGGING

This course prepares trainees to control traffic in construction areas to prevent injuries and fatal accidents at work through proper use of personal protective equipment, work zone components and types of operations, flagging procedures, proper and improper flagging operations, as well as communicating with workers and the public. This course is based on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) standards. Participants are tested on their abilities and issued a certificate of completion along with a wallet-sized card.



​​SUPPORTED SCAFFOLDING​​ 4 - 16 - 32 HOURS

This course is targeted to employees that must use or erect and dismantle different types of scaffolding utilized in the construction industry.  The Supported Scaffold Training is a Department of Buildings approved course and is intended for any individual who uses supported scaffold of ANY HEIGHT.  All workers must complete a training program of at least four-hours and be issued a supported scaffold user certificate verifying completion in order to perform any work on a supported scaffold.

​​SUSPENDED SCAFFOLDING​​ 8 - 16 - 32 HOURS
This course is intended for any person who uses or operates suspended scaffolding.  User Suspended Scaffold Training is a Department of Buildings approved course and is in compliance with the training requirements of Section 9-03, Rules of the City of NY.  Each participant must pass a written and practice examination in order to receive a suspended scaffold user certificate. Section 9-03 applies to the use of all suspended scaffolds during construction, renovation or maintenance of a building exterior. It is not applicable to pipe scaffolds, hydraulic lifts, mast climbing work platforms, temporary "floats" used by iron-workers, multi-point suspension scaffolds not utilizing powered winches, or any apparatus under the jurisdiction of the City's Elevator Division.

HAZMAT

This course is designed to meet the U.S. DOT initial and update training standard. Trainees will learn a systematic approach for applying the most up-to-date hazmat rules and in-depth exercises to reinforce the content and illustrate real-world applications of the regulations.  Hazardous materials training is required for all "hazmat employees" under the U.S. DOT hazardous materials regulations (49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H).  Hazmat training is required within 90 days for new employees.  Training must be repeated every three years and periodically as rules change.   Civil penalties for non-compliance are now up to $75,000 per day, per violation.

HAZWOPER 24 - 40 HOURS

This course is designed for workers who are involved in clean-up operations, emergency response operations, and storage, disposal, or treatment of hazardous substances or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. HAZWOPER 40 Hour is required for employees working on a project consisting of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operation mandated by the government.

 

PRE-APPRETICESHIP CERTIFICATE TRAINING (PACT)

This course is dedicated to advancing education and training programs in residential construction by training people of all ages and helping the home building industry address its needs for qualified workers through programs and instructional resources.  Home Builders Institute (HBI) is the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).  It is available to help communities customize its flexible national skills training model to create programs that best meet the workforce needs of that community's local construction business.  HBI's award-winning Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) curriculum, which is industry-validated and aligned with the National Green Building Standards™ approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).  The HBI PACT curriculum is one of the only three U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)-approved pre-apprenticeship curriculum and is recognized by the DOL as Registered Apprenticeship Innovator and Trailblazer.

 

ACCREDITED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

This course offers a complete series of entry-level and management assessments for the construction and maintenance industries and a series of academic tests for secondary career and technical education. All assessments are based upon NCCER's curricula and have been developed in conjunction with Prov™, NCCER's test development partner. College degrees have become increasingly valuable in advancing careers in the construction and maintenance industries.  NCCER and Pima Community College have developed a program that allows students 16 and older to earn college credit for successful completion of NCCER's Curriculum through an NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor.  Anyone who successfully completes craft training through an NCCER ccredited Training Sponsor and has their training accomplishments entered into the National Registry are qualified for the Craft Training for College Credit (CTCC) program.
